Compliance and Privacy

Compliance

Compliance is the ethical cornerstone of Silvercrest’s culture. Having a strong foundation of compliance deters fraud, waste, and abuse, and leads to better care and more transparency. To be successful, we need to demonstrate compassion, integrity, ethics, and compliant behavior in everything we do. That is why The Silvercrest Center has created the Code of Conduct that everyone at Silvercrest is expected to abide by, and the Compliance Helpline, a tool to report concerns of non-compliant behavior or activities.

Privacy

The Office of Corporate Compliance and Privacy provides guidance and education concerning patient confidentiality and the safeguarding of our patient’s protected health information at Silvercrest. The Privacy Office also oversees compliance with state and federal privacy requirements regarding the use and disclosure of patient information. The team applies Silvercrest’s protections in privacy-related policies, designs internal workflows to maintain patient confidentiality, conducts privacy risk monitoring, and assesses new projects, vendors, and regulations. It is also responsible for matters governed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Civil Rights (OCR), such as reporting and responding to OCR requests. Our Privacy Office handles patient-related privacy inquiries and requests for accountings of disclosure. It also performs secondary reviews of release requests for archived medical and billing records and conducts privacy risk assessments and audits.
